“The play of light on an object is my favorite subject to paint. Light can transform a simple object into a beautiful image. I enjoy the effects created by the long shadows of an early morning or late afternoon.”
After having worked as a graphic artist for several years, Gina Lijoi discovered her love for watercolors. She now devotes most of her artistic energy to watercolor painting. She likes to paint a wide range of subjects from still lifes and florals, to landscapes and figures. Her artwork has won her numerous awards.
Gina has served as secretary of the Nevada Artists Association, co-exhibit chairman of the Sierra Watercolor Society and co-editor of the newsletter for the SWS.
She has been an exhibiting member of the Artists Co-op Gallery of Reno, a member of the Latimer Art Club, Sierra Arts Foundation, and Nevada Museum of Art.
She holds a signature membership with the California Watercolor Association and the West Virginia Watercolor Society where here paintings are included in juried and invitational exhibits throughout the state.
She works out of a studio in her Reno, Nevada home and enjoys golf and travel in her free time.
